“We had the Frank Simmons Band play at our wedding and they were absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!! We loved Frank the minute we met him and knew we wanted him to be a part of our big day… They played a great variety of music (all in line with what we told him we wanted) ad made every song even better. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night and that is exactly what we wanted, and we loved that a couple band members came onto the dance floor and interacted with the crowd at different parts of the night… Frank listened to our requests and knows how to red the room, and blew everyone away. If you want the very best, book the Frank Simmons band!!!!”

“My husband I got married July 3, 2017 and had the Kenny Ford band for our wedding at Temple Avodah. This band was beyond our wildest dreams. They were absolutely amazing, interactive with our crowd and thoroughly enjoying themselves. The band played such fun songs and had our guests up the entire night. We truly are so thankful and happy to have had this amazing Hank Lane band perform for our wedding!”
WOW!!! You and the band were INCREDIBLE! Everyone was dancing all night long and you played all our favorite songs. All our friends complimenting us how amazing the music at the party was. You and the band were so energetic all night long we never wanted the evening to end.
It was a pleasure working with you throughout the entire process and I will definitely be recommending your band to all my friends and family.
Thank you for the amazing night!!
“Jeff Lubin and his band totally rocked the whole night away…”
“The Frank Simmons Band is absolutely amazing! Music was the most important part of the wedding to us and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this band. They completely blew the roof off our venue. Three weeks later people are still complimenting and asking about the Frank Simmons Band. After scouting bands of all sizes, we chose this band after a thorough meeting with the band leader Frank Simmons. We knew instantly that they had all the right qualities: professionalism, good taste in music, multiple band singers, a wide variety of instruments and a knowledge of our particular venue. These are full time performing musicians and their experience shows when they perform. They absolutely rocked our party!! We can’t thank the Frank Simmons band enough for making our night so memorable!”
My Husband and I got married on November 21st, 2015. We are huge music lovers and we knew we would be picky when it came to selecting a band for our wedding. We are more than happy to say that our overall experience at Hank Lane and with the Clara Jordan Band exceeded all of our expectations! We were so nervous for some of the newer music to be played by a live band, but the band played it great and it sounded just like the radio version. Clara Jordan Band definitely brought such professionalism and experience to the night, along with such high energy! We would definitely recommend the band!
Thank you for all at Hank Lane who helped us along the way! Stephanie you were a great help and thanks for dealing with all of our questions.

After Broadway’s big night, The Hank Lane Orchestra kicked off the Tony Awards Gala at The Plaza Hotel. Winners (and non-winners) partied with the band after the CBS broadcast of the show hosted by the fantastic Hugh Jackman. RuPaul was the first on the dance floor, (pictured bottom right with bandleader Kevin Osborne) and kept the party going all night!
Guests of the gala included Sting and his wife Trudie Styler who complimented the band as they entered the party. Samuel L. Jackson checked us out from the American Theatre Wing table, along with The Roots and Questlove. Actress Judith Light, Emmy Rossum (Shameless, Phantom of the Opera), celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, and rappers LL Cool J and T.I. were also in attendance to dance the night away with the Hank Lane Orchestra. Also spotted on the dance floor was Best Featured Actor in a Musical, James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin), clutching his newly won Tony.

Brian and I wanted to thank you and your band from the bottom of our hearts! You were so incredibly fabulous at our wedding at Westchester Country Club! So many of our guests continue to compliment us on you and your amazing band and how they had never been to a wedding before where so many people were on the dance floor from start to finish (even the WCC staff commented)!
While I am sure you have heard it many times before, a very special thank you to you and the entire Hank Lane team – it was such a pleasure working with you to plan the evening and it was indeed a night we will never forget. Thank you for making it such a memorable night for us and our guests!
All our best,
Helen & Brian
P.S. A few family members from both sides have asked that we have another wedding in two weeks because they had so much fun!
J. Lamont got his start in studying music at the young age of 8 years old. He received his formal training attending New York’s famous High School for Performing Arts, made famous in the movie “Fame.” He has been performing ever since.
An accomplished bassist and lead vocalist, J. was recruited and signed by Hank Lane Music in 2000 joining the popular Kenny Ford Band to perform at private party and events throughout the New York metropolitan area. Playing week after week in Kenny’s band was like going to graduate school. Here, J. learned at the side of an experienced band leader the “in’s and out’s” of running a party and what it takes to make a dance floor sizzle. After several years at Kenny’s side, the J. Lamont Band was formed with J. leading his very own “set” Hank Lane band.
Throughout over 20 years’ worth of performing, a few events have stood out. J. recently had a bit part in the movie “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas. Appropriately, his band can be seen playing in the big finale wedding scene at the end of the film, with J. playing the bass. And of course, it is every musician’s dream to play at Madison Square Garden. J. performed in front of 30,000 people at The Garden backing up several 50’s & 60’s revival acts.
Jay’s musical style is eclectic, and spans many genres from Jazz Standards to Contemporary. However, no matter what music his listeners prefer, it is his goal each and every time his band performs, to get everyone up and dancing. In his words, “If people aren’t dancing, grooving, or just bopping’ to my performances, then I’m doing something wrong.”
