Hank Lane Music at The Plaza

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

Hank Lane Music was recently featured in The Plaza’a January newsletter. Here’s a snippet of our interview with them. To read the rest, click here!

What is the best first dance song?
We get requests for everything from Sinatra to Taylor Swift. You can never go wrong with timeless classics such as “Have I Told You Lately” [Van Morrison] or “To Make you Feel My Love [Bob Dylan], often performed in the style of Adele’s cover. We also love newer up-tempo songs such as Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing” and Michael Buble’s “Everything”.

What is the best song to walk down the aisle to?

Traditional pieces such as Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” are always beautiful. This piece also has the advantage of being able to continually “loop” quite easily, providing for lots of musical length for large bridal parties or a particularly long aisle. While the majority of couples still choose to go with traditional Classical music, more and more are choosing to go more modern. Going the more contemporary route can really make for a memorable ceremony. We have a lot of requests for our Hank Lane Rock Orchestra who perform rock and contemporary classics. Couples who choose to go with this have recently walked down the aisle to Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”, Coldplay’s

Hank Lane Reviews: Trio at Holiday Party at New York Public Library

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Harlan and Stephanie,

The band last night was ABSOLUTELY incredible.  They understood what I wanted and did not want and were absolutely awesome.  Maybe if budget allows next year we can spring for a drummer and maybe a female vocalist, it was seriously absolutely incredible-can’t wait for the weddings I have next year that are using your company.  No doubt, we will be using your company again next year for our holiday party.  As soon as I have a date, we will be in touch!

Thanks again,

Michelle

Hank Lane Reviews: Park Avenue Band at Trump National Golf Club at Fundraiser

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Once again, I wanted to thank you for a great band at our 2011 Halloween Masquerade Ball on October 14, at Trump.  They really worked hard the whole night, and people really enjoyed dancing.

We have selected our date for next year and I would like to reserve that date for Park Avenue Band, provided the band has the same key band members at that time.

Thanks very much,

Barbara

Hi Ellyn,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!  I just wanted to let you know that we received many compliments on the music at this year’s Thanksgiving Luncheon.  Thank you for the suggestion.  Several people mentioned to us how much they enjoyed the pianist, violinist and vocalist and that they felt this was as great addition to the Luncheon.

All the best,

Emily
