Awesome, spectacular, amazing, incredible, and fabulous are only a few of the adjectives used to desribe your orchestra that performed at our daughter’s wedding at the Pierre Hotel.
Harris, we want to thank you for being such an integral part in making Stefani and Andrew’s wedding a night to remember. Having known you for so long and having worked with you and your family for so many years. there was never a question who we wanted as the orchestra at our children’s wedding. But I must tell you that you more than surpassed all our expectations.
We know that you and your band were feeling the love in the room that night because you gave it back to us over and over the entire evening. You created an ambiance of celebration and joy. The music selection, the sound, the boundless energy and enthusiasm were sheer perfection.
It was a most memorable evening, one which we will never forget and the significant reason for that was because of the fine group of musicians and singers. Please convey our deepest gratitude to each and every member of the band.
We thank you for your talent and most of all, your friendship.
First to Spencer, who answered all of our questions and helped us each step of the way–thank you soo much. Second to Michael, who helped us with our song selections and reassurances; and lastly and mostly to the Dane Wright Band, who just brought it all home for us. It was a joy not to worry about any part of this process.
I just wanted to take a quick minute to send you a note to thank you for last night. Alana and I had a blast and couldn’t have been more pleased with you and your band. Every single one of our friends and family has told us how impressed they were with the performance.
Additionally, I don’t know what your standard practice is but it meant a lot to me that you were happy to allow my dad and his friends to do Mack the Knife, me to sing some Bruce with you and allow me to speak on the mic when I requested.
I had the time of my life and recognize that we owe a lot of it you.
If Alana and I could ever be used as references, please let us know. We will for sure sing (pun intended) your praises to all we know.
“…I decided to do some real-life wedding wine research. I would call a few wedding venues around the country and also, accompanied by my colleague, check out some top wedding destinations in New York. We chose the Pierre Hotel and the University Club, two classic wedding venues.
The Pierre Hotel’s catering director, Herb Rose, had the brisk and efficient manner of a man who could do everything well. Mr. Rose showed us rooms, photo albums and offered advice on flowers and bands. (Of the former, he said, “the cost can be infinite” and of the latter, he counseled, “The best is Harris Lane.”) As to wine, Mr. Rose had this piece of advice. “Be careful you don’t spend too much money. Remember it’s not some fancy tasting party. Don’t waste your money on great Bordeaux.” The wines that the Pierre Hotel used for weddings came from Connecticut, said Mr. Rose, who knew the winery’s owner back when she had a flower shop near the hotel.”
Many thanks for maming Julie and Warren’s wedding day so magical. I don’t recall a time when the Pierre dance floor was packed at 1:30 AM ~ a real tribute to your talent.
Your band looked amazing in the white dinner jackets, you really came through for the bride!
I look forward to celebrating many more wonderful events with you and your group. You exceeded my very high expectations-wishing you a lovely and hopefully relaxing summer.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson was honored at the 16th annual gala for the New York Academy of Medicine with the Urban Health Champion Award this past Thursday, April 22 at The Pierre. Magic came up and said hi to Hank Lane band leader Mike Herman (L) along with guest vocalist Bobby Attiko and vocalist Felicia.
Firstly-we apologize for the delay in getting this to you-but secondly and more importantly we cannot thank you enough for making our wedding such a huge success! Harlan, when we first met with you back in June ( I think?) of 2004 I know we were not the easiest of clients to work with; between me, my mom and stepfather, my dad and stepmother, Ross and his mom, his dad and his dad’s girlfriend, each with a different opinion of what defines a fun yet elegant evening, I think it would be fair to say we gave you hard time. I didn’t think it was possible, but you did so much to alleviate all of our concerns and at the same time find a band that would make each of us happy.
Rhythm Nights was OUTSTANDING! From the minute the room opened up, everyone was on the dance floor and it never stopped! Ross being the musician he is was so impressed with their vocals and the instrumentation, and the fact that he got to play “Back in Black”, well, in his words…”There really is nothing cooler”. Both you and the band helped to make one of the most important nights for us one of the most special and memorable ever. Thank you so much!
I’ve referred some friends of ours so expect their call! We are hopeful years down the line we will work with you again for our son’s Bar Mitzvah!
Just wanted to tell you how amazing Steve Delisi and his band were last night. They made the party with their great music and professionalism. Please convey our thanks to Steve.
When my daughter put me in charge of music for her wedding I didn’t know where to start! Thank goodness I came to you. Bleecker Street Band was perfect! My daughter and new son-in-law could not have been happier. The same can be said for our guests! Thanks so very much. You’ll be hearing from guests of ours soon!
I know we had a lot of questions in the beginning but this process overall has been a joy. It was so nice for my daughter’s wedding to turn into everything we had hoped for and in truth, Hank Lane and North Side Swing were a huge part of that.
On behalf of my husband, our daughter, her new husband, our guests, and my still recovering feet, thank you, thank you, thank you!
