Saturday night was a blast! The Paula Atherton Band had everyone on the dance floor from the beginning to the end. They were fabulous! I don’t remember the last time I had so much fun! Perhaps it was when Harris played at my daughter’s wedding two and a half years ago! Hank Lane is truly the best! Please let Erik know how much fun we all had and I thank him very much.

I know that Ashley from my team wrote to thank you for helping us create a fantastic event with our 5th Anniversary Crown Awards this year. I also wanted to thank you for all of your assistance and for bringing us the Erik Marshall Band. They were FANTASTIC!!! What talents!!! I love how versatile and appreciated how accommodating they were at the last minute. Erik was great.
We look forward to working with you again.

The American Ballet Theatre (ABT) had its Opening Night Gala at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center last night. The program included performances from classic ballet productions such as Don Quixote and Cinderella, as well as a one-time-only performance of Jirí Kylian’s Nuages. First Lady Michelle Obama was once again an honorary chair, and many celebrities were present to celebrate, including Selena Gomez, Emmy Rossum, Kelly Rowland, Sigourney Weaver, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, and Zoe Kravitz. After the performance, the guests moved to the Lanvin sponsored French-themed dinner dance, where they were entertained by the Hank Lane Orchestra until the late hours of the evening. With all guests on the dance floor the entire evening, the party culminated in guests begging for an encore. Hank Lane Music has had the honor of performing at the ABT Gala for more than twenty years running.

The Rainforest Alliance has been leading conservation efforts since 1987, around the same time Hank Lane Music was founded. We have been honored to provide music for the organization over the years, including at last night’s Annual Gala, in support of sustainability and forest protection. The evening included a presentation of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement and Sustainable Standard-Setter awards, with Honorary Chair and Clean Water Project founder Gisele Bündchen in attendance. The Michael Hart Band had guests on the dance floor at the Museum of Natural History, and guest artist Deborah Cox gave a special performance.

Babies Heart Fund Gala featured in the New York Times
On March 6th, 2014, the Michael Hart Band provided the music for the 27th Annual Babies Heart Fund Gala. This year’s event was held at the Pierre Hotel, and benefitted the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Columbia University Medical Center. During the evening, special guest and Grammy winner Roberta Flack performed three of her songs, bookended by lively performances led by bandleader Michael Hart.

This coming Saturday, March 8th, 2014, The Woodbury Jewish Center (WJC) will be celebrating their reopening under Regal Caterers. Hank Lane Music has been collaborating with WJC since is opening in 1989, and our long-standing relationship with the temple has been an honor to uphold. We look forward to their continued success with Regal at the helm. The Gala that will be ushering in this new chapter will feature Hank Lane’s renowned Jeff Lubin Band, who will be rocking the house during a lavish evening of great food, music, and dancing. The founding members of WJC will be in attendance, and the occasion will also serve to honor special guest David Gaffner. Cheers to 25 years of excellence, may there be many more!

Hope you had a nice weekend! Just wanted to follow up and say how much we enjoyed having Paul Richards and his band at The Bowery Mission’s 15th Annual Valentine Gala. The band was wonderful as always and we got so many compliments on how lovely and fun the music was.

This past Saturday, our More Than Music DJ Allison had the pleasure of DJing for Katie Couric and her family in honor of her daughter Carrie’s 18th Birthday. The bash was thrown at Studio 450 and was put on by the amazing Elissa Held Events. Allison taught Katie some tricks behind the booth before the dancing began!

I just wanted to say thank you to the amazing Mike Herman and band, they really rocked it this year at our gala!
They always do a tremendous job with the music but this year, they were really on fire, the energy was contagious and the guests all commented on how amazing the music selection was so if you don’t mind conveying our thanks to Mike and the gang, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much!
